For more than 50 years, the Southern Alberta Risk and Insurance Management Society (SARIMS) has served hundreds of professionals in Southern Alberta's insurance and risk management industry and related fields. We are dedicated to the development, education and certification of our membership, and the advancement of the insurance and risk management professions.
SARIMS's monthly breakfast sessions feature notable experts who share their perspectives on key issues and current trends facing the insurance and risk management industries. Our meetings and events also provide members with valuable networking opportunities to share ideas with like-minded professionals and potentially advance their careers.
SARIMS has a long history of giving back to our community. Activities such as our annual golf tournament raise funds that are donated to local charities. We have been a proud contributor to the William H. McGannon Foundation for Advanced Risk Management since its inception.
The Vision, Mission and Objectives of SARIMS
SARIMS's vision is "excellence in risk management for a better community." Our mission is to provide risk management education, networking and awareness to our community across Southern Alberta.
The chapter's objectives are to:
- Provide risk management and insurance education to our community
- Promote and support careers in risk management and insurance
- Provide a forum for the exchange of risk management and insurance information and ideas
- Provide a forum for risk management and insurance networking
- Actively participate in national and international risk management and insurance forums
- Participate in regional government affairs that affect the risk management and insurance community
We represent the chapter on the board of the RIMS Canada Council, a standing committee of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS). The RCC addresses the interests of Canadian RIMS members and their chapters in support of the RIMS mission.
